Macaroni Salad

Bring about 6 cups water, with 3 teaspoons salt, and 1 tablespoon oil to a rolling boil, make sure the kettle you use has boiling room.  Add 2 1/2 cups macaroni, I prefer the small macaroni, but any will work. After you put the macaroni, into the water stir for a few seconds, then let come to a full boil again, then stir good, and turn the burner to simmer, and cook until if you take one out of the water it will easily degrade when you squeeze it between your fingers. Then drain the water off, do not over drain it or it will be dry. Add 1 cup chopped cheese, your choice, I like to use a mild to medium cheddar. mix 2 cups salad dressing, any brand, but not Mayo. with 2 tablespoons mustard, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, a 1/4 teaspoon pepper, and about 1/8 cup milk. pour over macaroni, add the cheese, and mix. Keep in refrigerator until you serve.

You may add salad shrimp, or tuna if you like.

Tip** Buying Kraft Macaroni and Cheese or the store brand, is a good way to get the macaroni for the salad. Then you can keep the cheese packets to add to things like scalloped potatoes or for a cheese sauce for vegetables.
