Vanilla Wafer Dessert

1 can evaporated milk (make sure it is cold)
1/2 cup sugar
1 6oz. pk. lemon jello (you can use what ever flavor jello you like)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 Tbsp. lemon juice (you may use fresh lemon juice or the bottled)
1 cup very hot water
12 box vanilla wafers
1/4 cup melted butter or margarine

Disolve the lemon jello into the 1 cup very hot water then refrigerate until it gets syrupy. Crush the vanilla wafers (if you place the wafers in a plastic zip lock bag you can use the bottom of a glass to crush the wafers and you won't have any mess). Mix half the crushed wafers with the butter then pat the crumb mixture into a 9"x13" cake pan. Beat the evaporated milk until stiff then add the sugar, salt, and vanilla. Continue beating as you add the jello. Stir in the lemon juice last. Pour mixture over top of the crust. Sprinkle the rest of the crumbs on top.

Refrigerate a few hours before serving.

This is a good recipe to make up the night before you want to serve it.
