Christmas Spritz Cookies
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg beaten
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups flour
In small mixing bowl mix together flour, salt,
baking soda and cream of tartar. Then in another larger bowl
mix together the butter, shortening, sugar, egg and vanilla. Blend together until
smooth. Gradually add flour mixture, mixing by hand once necessary. Fill cookie press
with dough and press onto cookie sheet 2" apart. For a more
colorful look you can add food coloring to your dough like red
and green for christmas.
Bake at 375° for 7 to 9 minutes or until cookies are golden brown.
